EVAC Training Activities

March 21st, 2025

Kampong Thom, March 21st 2025
The CWCC, COCD, and VCAO consortium are implementing the "Ending Corporal Punishment and Promoting Positive Parenting in Cambodia (EVAC)" project, terre des hommes Deutschland e.V., in the provinces of Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, and Kampong Thom.
As part of this initiative, a Training of Trainers on Child Protection and Positive Parenting has been provided Provincial and District Offices in three targeted provinces by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA)) and Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY). Following the training, these trainers conducted additional sessions for Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC) to ensure broader implementation of child protection and positive parenting approaches in communities.
To monitor progress and offer additional support, consortium partners, in collaboration with Training of Trainers from MoWA and MoSVY, organized a follow-up field visit to Phan Gnem commune, Kampong Thom Province on March 21st, 2025. This visit aimed to assess the training implementation, identify best practices, address challenges, and refine strategies to enhance the project's impact. #EVAC

March 19th, 2025

Pursat, March 19th, 2025
The CWCC, COCD, and VCAO consortium are implementing the "Ending Corporal Punishment and Promoting Positive Parenting in Cambodia (EVAC)" project, terre des hommes Deutschland e.V., in the provinces of Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, and Kampong Thom.
As part of this initiative, a Training of Trainers on Child Protection and Positive Parenting has been provided Provincial and District Offices in three targeted provinces by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA)) and Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY). Following the training, these trainers conducted additional sessions for Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC) to ensure broader implementation of child protection and positive parenting approaches in communities.
To monitor progress and offer additional support, consortium partners, in collaboration with Training of Trainers from MoWA and MoSVY, organized a follow-up field visit to Leach commune, Kravanh district and Talo commune, Talo Senchey district—in Pursat on March 19th, 2025. This visit aimed to assess the training implementation, identify best practices, address challenges, and refine strategies to enhance the project's impact. #EVAC

February 8, 2025

Phnom Penh, February 28, 2025:
Under the “Ending Violence Against Children and Promoting Positive Parenting in Cambodia (EVAC)” project, funded by terre des hommes Deutschland e.V., CWCC, as the lead consortium with COCD and VCAO, facilitated the participation of five children and youth representatives—one from CWCC in Kampong Thom, two from COCD in Pursat, and two from VCAO in Kampong Chhnang—in the National Conference on “Child and Youth Participation,” held at the Cambodiana Hotel in Phnom Penh. The national conference led by CNCC.
The conference aimed to share the experiences and best practices of children and youth actively engaged in prevention, intervention, response, and support services for children affected by violence, while highlighting their role in advocating for their rights and well-being. It also sought to evaluate and gather feedback on the initiative to establish a National Child and Youth Working Group, demonstrating a commitment to strengthening child participation at both national and global levels.
The conference brought together approximately 120 participants, including representatives from government ministries, relevant institutions, development partners, and children and youth from various organizations.
During consultation sessions and group discussions, two children from the EVAC project shared their experiences and best practices from their Child Club activities. They specifically highlighted challenges faced by children in their communities, raising awareness among ministry representatives, relevant institutions, development partners, and their peers.

As part of this initiative, a Training of Trainers on Positive Discipline and Effective Classroom Management has been provided Provincial and District Offices in Kampong Thom, Kampong Chhnang, and Pursat by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS). Following the training, these trainers conducted additional sessions for school principals, school management committees, and teachers to ensure broader implementation of positive discipline approaches in schools.
To monitor progress and offer additional support, consortium partners, in collaboration with Training of Trainers from MoEYS, organized a follow-up field visit to two target schools—Krayea Primary School and Kroyea Secondary School—in Kampong Thom on February 7, 2025. This visit aimed to assess the training implementation, identify best practices, address challenges, and refine strategies to enhance the project's impact. #EVAC

Kampong Chhnang, February 4, 2025

January 14 - 18, 2025

Event Highlights: E-VAC Training and Reflection Meeting
From January 14 to 17, 2025, at Angkor Holiday Hotel, Siem Reap Province, the Cambodia Women’s Crisis Center (CWCC), VCAO, and COCD, funded by TDH Germany – BMZ, successfully organized two impactful training sessions under the “Ending corporal punishment of children and promoting positive parenting in Cambodia – (E-VAC)” project.
Training Highlights:

  1. Gender Equality and Gender Mainstreaming in the Project Cycle. Facilitated by CWCC, this session aimed to:
     Raise awareness about gender inequality and its impact on women and girls.
     Equip staff with technical skills to integrate gender perspectives into leadership across project interventions.
  2. Guidelines for Implementing Child Participation. Facilitated by COCD, this session focused on:
     Promoting meaningful child participation in project activities.
     Providing guidelines and steps for child participation facilitation.
     Exploring a phased approach: pre-event, during-event, and post-event.
     Risk management for child participation in project programs.
    Participation:
    The training was attended by 29 participants (14 women), including leadership and project staff from CWCC, VCAO, and COCD.
    Reflection Meeting:
    After the trainings, the three partner organizations, joined by TDH Germany – BMZ representatives in Cambodia, conducted a reflection meeting to review the 2024 project achievements, identify challenges, discuss lessons learned, and plan activities for 2025.
